Untitled is a home video initially captured by my father after a snow storm in 2002. He sets up a video recorder next to a motion sensored porch light, while he and my older sister play in the snow. The video goes in and out of focus naturally, and we never see their faces in focus. My father recites his first time seeing snow when he arrived to the US in 1991.

Fuera de la casa is a sound and video piece, highlighting the stories of the few people I met through an online community group for Peruvians in the US. Through video and phone calls, they tell me about their beginnings in America and how it grew from there. Some of them resent their new homes for a lack of community, but all of them remain grateful for the opportunity of a better life.
